Coming Up in Gears of War 4

A brand new Gear Pack is coming to Gears of War 4 that turns the Armored Kantus from badass to ultimate badass - with STYLE. This is the Stalker Kantus Gear Pack!

These new Armored Kantus variants come with a brand new helmet design and two distinct looks – the Black/Gold of the Stalker Kantus, and the Steel/Gold of the Elite Stalker Kantus.

Both characters and the new Violence Weapon Skin set (shown below) will be available in the Stalker Kantus Gear Pack for one week beginning this Friday for both 400 Credits and 2000 Credits.

With the recent Lambent release, we offered our first direct ‘buy what you want, get what you want’ purchase option when spending real-world money in Gears 4. The Stalker Gear Pack will also offer each character and weapon skin for individual purchase when spending real-world money in the Gears 4 Store throughout its availability!

horde boss rush

You think you know Horde? Let us change that for you.

Picture this. 10 waves to the finish. Bosses EVERY wave. Oh and, when we say bosses every wave, we mean fighting multiple bosses at once. And when we say multiple, we mean 3. Or 4. Or even 5. This is Horde dialed to insanity. We call it 'Boss Rush'.

This 10 wave experience will put you to the test as you fight to survive an insane onslaught from multiple bosses. It’s so insane, in fact, that our featured playlists are starting set to Casual and Hardcore.

Like our recent Stay Frosty event, we’ll be developing this Horde variant based on your feedback. Feel like it’s not tough enough? We’ll give you harder difficulty playlists. Find something is making the experience frustrating? We’ll try and address it.

Check it out for yourself beginning this Friday in Gears 4. We hope you dig this one as much as we do.

blitz is back!

The fast and furious version of King of the Hill is back. All hail the return of Blitz!

If you haven’t tried Gears 4’s version of Blitz yet, prepare for fast rotations and constant combat. Rings offer DOUBLE points – but you’ll need to keep at least one player in the ring to keep the points flowing in. Rings have less points and bleed them whether they are captured or not, so you'll need to make every play count.

With area clearing weapons removed, you have to fight tooth-and-nail for every second you can get. Get stuck in to some frantic Blitz action beginning this Friday.

The. Grind. Is. On. Our Season 5 Ranked Challenge, which tasks you with 9000 Kills or Downs in 90 days in Versus Public Play, begins this Friday!

Track your progress in your Gears 4 Achievements via the Xbox Guide. Once you’ve completed your challenge, head to https://gearsofwar.com/my-rewards to claim your Emerald Gear. If you’re among the elite who hold three Diamond placements in three different playlists – and you’ve completed the challenge – you can also take home your Diamond Gear there too. Good luck Gears fans.

new update out now

This morning, we released a small new Update for Gears of War 4 featuring the final 500G of achievements for the game (designed by YOU!), a toggle to enable Gnashers Only in any mode (except Escalation) in Private Match and an exploit fix for the Longshot.

This Week In Esports

Gears Fight Night returned this week with a showmatch between North American teams Simplicity and Hive, along with the Pool Play draw for the upcoming Gears Pro Circuit Columbus Charity Invitational.

This week’s broadcast kicked off with a match showcasing two of the best up-and-coming teams in the Gears Pro Circuit, with Simplicity taking on Hive (formerly Nimbus) in a series that included the Gears Fight Night debut of both Old Town and Diner following their addition to the Gears Pro Circuit last month. Though close throughout, Simplicty would go on to narrowly edge out Hive’s young roster in two maps, with the final score being 7-6 7-5.

Next up was the Pool Play draw for the upcoming Gears Pro Circuit Charity Invitational, which will see 12 of the best teams in Gears Esports make their way to MLG Studios in Columbus, Ohio to compete for a $200,000 prize pool to be split 50/50 with a charity of their choosing. With only 8 of the 12 teams making it into the single elimination Championship Bracket, a favorable Pool Play group may be the difference of playing on Sunday or going home early.

The Pool Play groups for the Gears Pro Circuit Charity Invitational will be:

Pool A

Pool B

Pool C

Pool D

The $200,000 event kicks off Saturday, November 17th at 10AM ET on live.gearsofwar.com, but don’t miss the Northern Arena North American Regional this weekend (also broadcasted on live.gearsofwar.com), where teams like OpTic Gaming, Ghost Gaming, Rise, Simplicity, Reciprocity and more make their way north of the border to battle it out for the lion’s share of the $20,000 prize pool and 5,000 Pro Points (per player).
